Two tendencies will determine the development of the military and political situation in the 21st century. On the one hand it is the consolidation of the unipolar world with one superpower using military solution for main world politic problems. On the other hand it is the formation of the multipolar world based on equality of the nations, international law and maintenance of the states national interests balance.

Having developed scientific and industrial infrastructure Russia is capable to help not only particular states but the whole world to provide their military security and to respond to the outside military threats of the 21st century. Russia is usually strong in design and production of the new AME types which excel the foreign analogues and cost cheaper. Its scientific and technical potential allows to break through to the next century. The Russian AME quality and technical characteristics give an opportunity to modernize the existing weapons and equipment under the new standards.

Russia can contribute to strengthening of the independent states’ national security in the following fields. Using its space facilities Russia can provide all interested countries with high-quality maps, satellite communication and navigation systems at a price lower than the US producers can offer. The Russian firms are the world leaders among aircrafts producers. Thousands of the second and the third generation MiG-21, MiG-23 and SU-22 aircrafts can be upgraded to the forth generation level to compete with such Western fighters as F-16 and Mirage-2000. Besides several Russian aircrafts systems and equipment still have no analogues in the world. To prevent military threat from the sea our producers can offer supersonic anti-ship missiles carrying boats and submarines. The Russian modern air defense systems are reliable protection from air strikes. Potential customers can increase their armies power with the Russian tanks, APCs, volley fire systems, laser guided shells, ballistic missiles, small arms. One of the important MTC trends is to modernize the Russian AME under the NATO standards.

Russia also can offer its capabilities and technologies to secure safe storage of different ammunition including nuclear and chemical. Foreign students have an opportunity to study in the Russian military schools that contributes to the strengthening of the bilateral military and technical cooperation between Russia and the other states.
